Amit Goswami is the notable quantum physicist seen in the films
"What The Bleep Do We Know," "The Dalai Lama
Renaissance," and "The Quantum Activist."
He is also the author of several popular personal development
books based upon quantum physics.
About Amit Goswami
Amit Goswami is a retired professor of theoretical physics.
Although he retired from a long career at the University of
Oregon, he still remains active, teaching and holding workshops
in various locations across the United States. His specialty is
quantum physics and working with the science within
consciousness.
Quantum physics is more easily understood when the observer
effect is used as an example. This phenomena shows that the act
of observing transforms the field of possibilities into an
actual experience, not least because of the expectations and
intentions of the observer.
Taking this concept a little further, Goswami developed the idea
of quantum activism, where individuals could deliberately bring
about positive changes to the earth. He bases this upon three
precepts.
First is that consciousness pervades our being and all objects
in our experience as quantum possibilities for us to choose
from. Next, Amit Goswami teaches if we choose a result that is
known, we are allowing our egos to guide us. If we choose an
unknown, we are allowing God consciousness to guide us. Choosing
God consciousness requires taking quantum leaps and that leads
to his third precept that quantum physics is evolution of
consciousness.
You will find that many of the books mentioned below are also
available as Kindle ebooks.
Amit Goswami Books
originally published in 1991 and has been used as a
college textbook in universities around the world. It
provides students with a clear explanation of quantum
mechanics including many problems and their solutions as
examples. Goswami also integrates quantum physics with
more traditional physics so students can carry the
information learned into their chosen field of study.
was published in 1995 and is available as a book and
ebook. In this work, Amit Goswami explains that it is
consciousness, not matter, that defines the universe. He
calls his theory monistic idealism, and teaches it is
the fundamental principle behind all religions and it
should be the foundation upon which all sciences are
built as well. He further explains that in this light,
quantum physics takes on new meaning, and can be used to
explain free will, the soul, the mind-body connection,
and spiritual growth.
Our Creative Potential (Perspectives on Creativity)"
was published in 1999. In this book, Amit Goswami
explains how to work with inner and outer creativity to
bring about positive changes. Examples from creative
people are provided to help make the concepts easy to
understand. Goswami examines traditional ideas
concerning creativity and re-examines it through the
lens of quantum physics to give readers a new
perspective on becoming creative.
is a two-volume set of college textbooks that were
published in 2000. The first book explores notable
scientists throughout history and the concepts of
Newtonian physics. The second book teaches quantum
physics. Together they trace the trend of separating God
from science in the early days of scientific
understanding and then reuniting them again in light of
today's science.
• "Science and Spirituality, A Quantum
Integration" is a book by Amit Goswami that was
published in 2000. It explores the science within
spirituality. Goswami teaches that spirituality explains
the paradoxes found in science, and quantum physics
explains the paradoxes found in various religions of the
world. He underscores the metaphysical unity of science
and spirit and relates that the universe is made of
consciousness.
Book of Living, Dying, Reincarnation and Immortality"
was published in 2001. It is available as a book and
ebook. In this work, Amit Goswami makes quantum physics
relatable to the average reader. Once he has established
a basic understanding, he helps readers see how quantum
physics may be able to provide answers to questions that
have baffled religious scholars for eons. Goswami shows
how science can actually provide a form of proof for the
existence of the soul, immortality, and even
reincarnation. He explains that through quantum physics,
science and religion actually support each other and
prove the validity of each other. In addition, Goswami
explains that in the same way, quantum physics may
provide an explanation for ghosts, angels, UFOs, and
past-life regression memories.
Physicist Explains the Healing Power of Integral
Medicine" was published in 2004 and is a book
and ebook. In this Amit Goswami book, the author takes a
look at integral medicine practices such as acupuncture,
homeopathy, Ayurveda, and Chinese medicine, as well as
standard conventional medicine. He then explores the
subject of quantum physics, consciousness, and the
mind-body connection. He offers a new approach to
medicine that involves the use of the mind to bring
about healing.
Physicist's Guide to Enlightenment" is a book
by Amit Goswami that was published in 2006. In it, he
tackles tough concepts such as miracles, God, and
spirituality. He ties together science, spirituality,
psychology, and philosophy in a way that makes it easy
for the average reader to understand. To illustrate his
concepts, he includes stories taken from pop culture so
his teachings are instantly relatable.
Resolution Between Darwinism and Intelligent Design"
was published in 2008. In this book, Amit Goswami
explains that evolution and intelligent design contain
parts of the whole picture, but each are lacking.
Goswami tells readers the two are not mutually
exclusive, but in fact, quantum physics explains how
both are correct because consciousness and not matter is
the building block of life and is what gives biological
creatures purposefulness.
Physics Tells Us about Our Origins and How We Should
Live" is a book and ebook by Amit Goswami that
was published in 2008. According to Amit Goswami,
quantum physics holds the key to understanding the
mysteries of life and the universe. In fact, it may even
help prove the existence of God. Goswami further
explains how evolution fits in and how beings develop
consciousness.
Civilization: A Few People Can Change Human Evolution"
is a book and ebook that was published in 2011. This
book follows up on his previous work in which Goswami
used quantum physics to prove the existence of God. In
this book, Goswami asks readers since they now know God
exists, what do they plan to do about it? He explains
how quantum thinking can be used to bring about a new
and better future for individuals, society, and the
world as a whole. Goswami made a documentary based on
this book called "The Quantum Activist" that has won
numerous awards.
Learning More from Amit Goswami
Goswami actively teaches more about quantum activism. He has a
program available on DVD that helps people learn what he
believes is the way to save and advance civilization. The
program "Quantum Activist" can also be viewed online on his
website. In addition, Goswami offers a course available on his
website called "Quantum Physics 101: A Tale of Two Dogmas" that
helps average people better understand the concepts behind
quantum physics.
Amit Goswami is also a frequent guest speaker at spirituality
conferences and on talk shows such as Coast to Coast AM with
George Noory.
Goswami has been on the leading edge of scientific thought for
decades. He has a knack for making difficult topics easy for
everyday people to understand and apply. His personal
development books may be a departure from the usual self help
books on the market, but they just may give the world the
paradigm shift it needs to help humans evolve their
spirituality.
